Billets d'Afrique

JSDA - Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa
The Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa (JSDA) is the official journal of the Institute for Sustainable Development in Africa. The journal was established as part of the function of the African Studies Program and the Institute for Sustainable Development of Kalamazoo College in order to bring together a multidisciplinary discussion on the subject of sustainable development. The general belief is that both theoretical and operational discussions of development efforts in Africa must be interdisciplinary and as such policy makers and academics will have a useful academic journal which could be instrumental in moving Africa's development forward. The journal will focus on debates on sustainability and development; development paradigms; social, cultural, economic, and ecological sustainability; the politics of sustainable development with regard to governance and international collaboration for sustainable development in Africa. The Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa is a refereed journal published twice a year -- Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer to strengthen and foster sustainable development and planning efforts in Africa.

Liaison Rwanda

Polylog
Journal of Intercultural Philosophy in english, german and spanish. »We understand intercultural philosophy as the endeavor to give expression to the many voices of philosophy in their respective cultural contexts and thereby to generate a shared, fruitful discussion granting equal rights to all.« polylog seeks to realize such practices in an intercultural dialogue among hilosophers as well as other interested scholars and members of society – in a philosophical polylogue. The project pursues this aim by providing a virtual platform for the world-wide discussion of topics in intercultural philosophy. Intercultural philosophy is not thereby intended as a new theory, discipline, or school to be established. Rather, the diversity of intentions and approaches should be met with the greatest possible openness as well as academic seriousness – as much as possible in the appropriate form and manner.

West African Review (African Resource Centre)
Thus, we designed West Africa Review as a remedy to glaring inadequacies in the focused and timely dissemination of research matters pertaining to West African studies. The journal will provide a much-needed forum for original work being done by scholars of West Africa in and outside of the region, works that would otherwise gather dust in folders or wait for years before appearing in book form. And because of the current problems of dissemination of results of researches done in West Africa--the death of many local journals and the limited circulation of few surviving ones, West Africa Review will particularly serve as a publication of record for research produced and published in the region, thereby facilitating productive exchanges among scholars of the region wherever they may be.
