Synopsis
Akin und Mary meet for the first time at an airport where they accidentally bump into each other and mistakenly swap their identical Blackberry phones. This leads to a destination mix up after they receive one another’s text regarding a travel destination. Consequently, Akin ends up traveling to where Mary is supposed to go and vice versa. Neither knows about the swap until they have reached their opposite destinations and “the phone” stops ringing (In Mary’s case) and “Won’t stop ringing” (In Akin’s case) . As a result of the phone swap, they agree to help carry out each other’s missions, armed with the information and data on each other’s phone. But it’s not as easy as they both think as new obstacles and complications rise at every turn as they both struggle to adapt to their alien environment and situation. Mary has to walk in Akin's shoes and represent him in a company meeting while Akin has to represent Mary in her family meeting. This they do with hilarious results…

Press Reviews
„Africa continues to be one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the world when it comes to telephone users. It was only fitting that we have a film centered on the mobile phone and how these gadgets are literally influencing culture and society in a hilarious way.“ Africlectic.com

„It showcases Nigerian life, not only in the city but in the villages too. A film that takes your imagination away from the archetypical Nollywood film, this is real cinematic filming and viewing.“ afridiziak.com

„Phone swap is an unabashedly romantic comedy. I (…) particularly love the way women were portrayed. For a change Nigerian women were strong, smart and beautiful.“ Ayodele Olofintuade, Book Republic

„One word describes this movie, BRILLIANT!!! (...) PHONE SWAP has proved to be a must see classic of our time.” by Afolabi Lucas

„Phone swap is an unabashedly romantic comedy. From the first scene to the last you are either laughing out loud or chuckling into your pretty expensive crépe (...)” Ayodele Olofintuade, progress publishing

„Phone Swap is incontrovertibly a first class comedy movie in Nollywood, sailing on the seas of dynamism and ingenuity, with its mast of professionalism beating proudly in the air and pointing to one fact… It has raised the movie bar in Nollywood once again!” by Augusta Okon

„What makes the plot engaging in this particular film are the performances from its all-star cast, and a visual range in its cinematography that allows us to see more of Nigeria than any claustrophobic Nollywood film could ever hope to do (...) This film has some great moments in it, and deserves to be enjoyed by a big audience on a big screen.” Caitlin Pearson, The Africa Channel

„You know a movie is good when the audience is pouring out of the hall doubled-over, giggling hard with their friends and wiping tears from their eyes, reliving scenes and making appointments to come watch again.” connectnigeria.com

„Kunle Afolayan wants to scare you, he wants to thrill you, he wants to make you laugh, but most of all, he would like you to suspend your disbelief — in his plots, yes, which tend to be over the top, but also about what is possible in Africa.” Andrew Rice, The New York Times
