L’histoire et l’historiographie africaines ont été déformées par les pouvoirs coloniaux au cours de leur quête de domination du continent africain. S’ensuit la tâche colossale de retracer, reconstruire et recréer le passé africain, une tâche qui a été entreprise depuis les indépendance des années 1960. Dans ce contexte, l’UNESCO a publié l’innovant ouvrage "Histoire générale d’Afrique", qui est à la base de notre approche dans cette section.
