Exhibition: "Slave Routes - African Resistance Protagonists"

In the framework of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of UNESCO's "Slave Routes" Project (1994-2014), UNESCO and AfricAvenir invite you to the exhibition about the "Maafa" (Transatlantic Slave Trade) and Slavery "Slave Routes - African Protagonists of Resistance in Africa, Europe and the Americas" at Galerie d’Art Contemporain de Yaoundé (Centrale de lecture publique de Yaoundé) between 22 May and 15 June 2014.

The vernissage will take place on 22 May 2014 at 16h00 at Galerie d’Art Contemporain  de Yaoundé (Centrale de lecture publique de Yaoundé), in front of the Ministère de la Fonction Publique (Ministry of Public Works).

Put together by the Berlin section of AfricAvenir in cooperation with Werkstatt der Kulturen, this exhibition has been awarded the prestigious Toussaint Louverture Medal, which is attributed by UNESCO for "outstanding contributions in the fight against hegemony, racism and intolerance".
