Decolonisation marked by trauma, forgetting and memory - Algeria as a case study
In the framework of this year's theme “50 years of In-dependences – a (self) critical evaluation” AfricAvenir is focusing from 2nd - 4th September 2010 on the topic “Decolonisation marked by trauma, forgetting and memory - Algeria as a case study”. Daho Djerbal from the Université dAlger-Bouzaréah has been invited for a Dialog Forum as well as for a day-workshop on the theme. We are also taking advantage of Daho Djerbal's presence in Berlin to offer the opportunity for discussion with him after the showing of the film “The Battle of Algiers” (Original French Version with English subtitles). “The Battle of Algiers” is one of the most impressive films ever made about colonialism and anti-colonial resistance.
