InterLause #2 presents No Humboldt 21!
Book presentation and panel discussion
The Ethnological Museum of Dahlem will move to the Humboldt Forum in the newly built Berlin Palace in 2019. The campaign "No Humboldt 21!", which has been running since 2013 and reaching an ever wider audience, brought the debates on the colonial past of the palace, the ethnological collection, as well as hidden scientific process into light.
Critical Perspectives have found their way in public discussions due to the ongoing protests of activists with migrant-diasporic background and racist-critical cultural and educational work.
Publicity campaigns were carried out with poster campaigns, video works and exhibits that broadened perspective and allowed us to bring our claims to the public space. A Book that has just been published for the first time provides an overview of the topics and interventions of the past five years.
As part of this event, we look back at the works of the "No Humboldt 21!" Campaigns. With a book presentation and a guided tour of photographic and video works, we want to give you an overview of the years of protest. We invite you to the discussion and debate, including questions about the intersections of our campaign with other movements against re-evaluation and repression in the city.
