On Monday, September 30th 2013 at 7pm<\/b>, AfricAvenir invites you to the panel discussion \u201cRenewable Energies & Green Democracy \u2013 Towards a Globally Just Energy Supply<\/b>\u201d with Dr. El Mostafa Jamea <\/b>(German Professional Environmental Consultancy), Abdou Karim San\u00e9<\/b> (Freundeskreis Tambacounda e.V.) and Dr. Azzedine Maaroufi<\/b> (German-Moroccan Competence Network). The recommendations for action<\/b> for political and economic decision makers for a globally just energy transition<\/b>, formulated around our campaign and project  \u201eParadoxes of Sustainability"<\/b> will be once more presented and discussed during this panel discussion. After previous events focusing on the need for resources  and \u201egreen\u201c technologies for Europe, this discussion concentrates on the realization of \u201egreen\u201c energy supply in Africa<\/b>.  Dr. Azzedine Maaroufi und Abdou Karim San\u00e9, who have been active for years in Germany as well as in their countries of origin, will report from the projects of their organizations in the field of renewable energies and give a direct insight into their work in the field. "It’s high time that decentralized regenera<\/i>tive and autonomous energy supply is given priority over centrally organized solutions!\u201d<\/i> and "It’s high time that added value and production of green technologies takes place in Africa!"<\/i> are two of those recommendations by AfricAvenir. Dr. El Mostafa Jamea, who was involved in the formulation of the recommendations, Dr. Maaroufi and Mister San\u00e9 will critically discuss these demands based on their experiences in the field of renewable energies in Senegal and Morocco. nWhich opportunities arise from decentralised energy supply with renewable energies in Africa? <\/b>How do Freundeskreis Tambacounda and DMK realize these energy supplies in their projects in Senegal and Morocco? Are they realizable? How do the communities react to the engagement of the diaspora? What is the relation of (small scale) projects from the diaspora and large scale projects like DESERTEC?nDr. Jamea, energy expert from Morocco, who has previously worked in the large scale project DESERTEC, and Dr. Maafouri, who is setting up a university cooperation between Germany and Morocco together with DMK, will discuss which conditions would be necessary for the production of green technologies in Morocco. <\/b>The origin of the green technologies for the projects of the migrant organizations Freundeskreis Tambacounda e.V. and DMK, as well as possible related dependencies will also be debated.nExperts\u2018 backgrounds<\/b>nDr. El Mostafa Jamea  <\/b>holds a degree in engineering and a PhD in sustainable management of resources from the Higher Institute Marche (2009). Dr. Jamea is senior expert for renewable energies and climate change at GPEC (German Professional Environmental Consultancy) and member of the German-Moroccan Competency Network (DMK).nAbdou Karim San\u00e9 <\/b>is president of the migrant organisation Freundeskreis Tambacounda e.V. from Hannover. The organization set up the training center Centre d\u2019\u00c9nergie Solaire, d\u2019Hygi\u00e8ne et de Formation Professionelle (CESHFP) in Senegal and installed a photovoltaic system there in order to be independent from the very costly and unreliable energy supply by the publicly owned energy provider SENELEC. The facility should serve educational purposes as a showpiece for multipliers, and to demonstrate the potential of solar energy to the local community. Additionally, the establishment of a training course in solar technology is planned, which should encourage specialized expertise to develop and settle in Tambacounda.  Abdou Karim San\u00e9 was member and president of the foreign advisory council in Hannover for several years. Additionally, he represented the city at the UN World Conference against Racism, racist discrimination and xenophobia in Durban\/South Africa in 2001.nDr. Azzedine Maaroufi<\/b> is head of the working group on renewable energies in the German-Moroccan Competency Network (DMK). DMK, in collaboration with CIM\/GIZ, the research center J\u00fclich and the Higher Institute Aachen initiated a project in the area of university cooperation for renewable energies through which short-term assignments in Morocco of Moroccan experts from Germany are planned. Furthermore, the organization is conducting the Essaouira studies, which examine the extent to which the small village can be supplied with reasonably priced and environmentally friendly portable water by solar energy. Additionally included is a feasibility study of the disposal and energetic use of the domestic and agricultural waste from the production of bio fuels and an investigation in the area of decentralized energy supply.
