In Cooperation with Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa): Symposium 'Where We Meet: Cultural Translation and Art in Social Transformation', 5-6 June 2012, Werkstatt der Kulturen

The last years have seen the establishment of an ever-growing transnational network of African artists and curators, who proactively founded and run art spaces in their home towns. The symposium sheds a light on the role of these initiatives with regard to their influence on social transformations as well as the challenges of cultural translation processes that the actors encounter.
